The Long Wait is Finally Over: LSU v. MSU
As I am typing this, there is only 3 short hours before real football is kicked off, excluding any DII games and whatnot. ( 4 hours till MSU v LSU). Isn't it wonderful? Collegefootballnews.com has a couple of preview type things for our game here and here. Of course there is another on ESPN/CBS Sportsline, and no I am not linking it. Stop being so lazy and find it yourself.
I've never been the kind of guy that predicts scores. I'll pick a winner but that is as far as it goes. Not suprisingly I will be going with LSU in this one. They're preseason #2 for a reason. Can MSU win? Of course, I just don't think they will. I've seen too many of you guys confuse a prediction with a statement of certainty. If you're one of those people, you should really think about working on that. I personally find it annoying and quite frankly it makes you look stupid. Sorry about that, I got a little sidetracked. LSU lost a ton of talent on offense and it may in fact take them a game or two to start hitting on all cylinders. That is where the defense, which returns 8 starters, comes into play. The Mississippi State defense may be able to keep the score low, but I just can't see the offense putting anything together against LSU. Croom's offenses struggle against mediocre teams, what will they look like against possibly the best defense in the country? I'm thinking it won't be a pretty sight.
Upsets do happen though. Thats why they don't just crown a champion before ever playing the game. What?! Thats happened before?!?! Guess I shouldn't be surprised, this is after all the sport that still can't figure out how to implement a playoff system. There I go getting off track again.
